St. Bernadette Parish Renewal

ST. BERNADETTE PARISH RENEWAL PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you for gathering us together as St. Bernadette Parish. We come before you, conscious of our failings, united in Your name and longing for your blessing.

Lord Jesus, grant us wisdom and forgiveness. Teach us to grow, love, share, and renew our lives. Help us to learn from the past and enter confidently into the future. Help us to cherish, value and respect one another as the Body of Christ.

Holy Spirit, inspire us to offer our gifts and talents where needed. Help us to become flames of faith, hope and love, in our families, in our communities, and in our workplaces. Help us to tend to the needy and the sick, to welcome the stranger and the outcast.

Holy Trinity, guide us as we discern Your will for the spiritual renewal and growth of our parish. Come to us, remain with us, and enlighten our path. You desire justice for all; enable us to uphold the rights of others.  Through patience, love, and true charity lead us forward in Your Light.

Amen.

St. Bernadette, pray for us. St. Boniface, pray for us. All Holy men and women, pray for us.

UPDATE FROM THE PARISH RENEWAL COMMITTEE

June, 2022

In April of 2022, the Parish Pastoral Council Renewal Committee released a survey to the parishioners of St. Bernadette Parish in an effort to guide the new Pastoral Council’s efforts. Thanks to all those who completed the survey and shared their thoughts and ideas. We appreciate your feedback!

The survey asked two questions relating to your overall feelings about the parish, and what you think is important for St. Bernadette’s. In order for us to better understand the ‘big picture’ we organized your responses using the Seven Essential Elements of Parish Life as our guide. You can find detailed definitions of these categories and a more comprehensive report of our findings on the St. Bernadette Parish website.

These elements include:

1. Evangelization – how we share the Good News in the greater community.

2. Worship – the quality and organization of our liturgies.

3. Word – are we teaching parishioners (young an old) how to deepen their faith?

4. Community – how welcoming is the family of St. Bernadette’s?

5. Service – are we looking after those in our communities that need the most help?

6. Stewardship – are we making sure that we have volunteers and resources to meet our needs?

7. Leadership – do we have effective and co-operative leadership?

Based on your responses the Parish Renewal Committee (PRC) would like to present the following survey information for consideration by the newly established Parish Pastoral Council (PPC)

● Continue to foster a more welcoming atmosphere and improve communication within the parish

 ● Seek to make improvements in the music ministry and provide overall better sound quality

● Suggestion to make catechism, adult faith formation, sacramental access especially confession/reconciliation and youth involvement a priority

 ● Continue with the efforts to help those in need, such as the elderly within the community and those in need around the world Again, thank you for completing our survey, and sharing your voice.
