Faith is a gift from God. It is also our free response to all that God has revealed to us. Faith includes not only an intellectual understanding of doctrine but also a conversion of heart. Faith grows and develops throughout life. Faith is lived in community.      <\/em><\/p>\n

Faith-filled people look at their actions and the world differently. All life changes when seen through the eyes of faith.<\/em><\/p>\n

Our Catechism Connection to the Triduum<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each child of our parish is able to pick up a \u201cPassport to the Triduum\u201d<\/strong> entitled <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur Footsteps With Christ\u201d<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are asked to bring their passport to each of the Triduum services and activities they attend to be hole punched.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collect as many hole punches as possible and return the \u201cfootprint punched\u201d passport to the office for a small token.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a great way to involve your entire family in participating fully, consciously, and actively in our community life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Available during our Journey with Jesus in His Last Days catechism class Tuesday March 21 or in the Narthex of the Church by the sign up at masses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the Triduum?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThrough his paschal mystery, the Lord Jesus redeemed the human race and gave perfect glory to the Father.  By dying, Christ destroyed our death; by rising, he restored our life.  For this reason, the Easter Triduum, when we celebrate the suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord, is the high point of the liturgical year.  The Easter solemnity is to the year what Sunday is to the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The celebration of the Easter Triduum opens with the evening Mass of the Lord\u2019s Supper, reaches its climax in the Easter vigil.  The Good Friday service- the Paschal Fast follows the Mass of the Lord\u2019s Supper.  The Church of God fasts to honour the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus, and to prepare to share more deeply in the joy of his resurrection.  On Holy Saturday, the people of God remain in recollection at the tomb of the Lord, meditating on his sufferings and death, refraining from celebrating the Eucharist until the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout this day the faithful are invited to continue the solemn paschal fast which they began on Good Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the solemn vigil service, a night of prayer which looks forward to the celebration of the Lord\u2019s resurrection, mourning gives way to the joys of Eastertide, which will  be celebrated for the next fifty days.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
